About Raquel
Becoming a doctor was the plan—at least, that’s what my family expected. But as I slogged through chemistry, I realized my heart was somewhere else: supporting people with disabilities. That work lights me up in a way medicine never did.
I’m a licensed teacher in Nevada, and soon, California too. My background is solid: a Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education, a Bachelor’s in Psychology, two Associate’s degrees, and certifications in trauma-informed care and mental health. I’ve even trained service dogs, because I like to keep things interesting. Kids, challenges, dogs—I’m in.
I’ve seen a lot. I interned with the Las Vegas police on abuse and neglect cases, stepped up as a chaplain after Route 91, and taught pre-K autism classes in Clark County. I’ve gained lessons in resilience and empathy—and developed a real appreciation for strong coffee. I’m still here, more grounded than ever, and ready for whatever comes next.
